Greenlight’s $199 Family Hub offer requires a paid plan for new customers
Greenlight’s US offer pairs a $199 Family Hub with a $99 annual plan for new customers: $298 before tax and shipping.

Why it matters
The lower hardware price is tied to different conditions for new and existing customers. Compare the device plus the plan you actually want: a discount on the screen can still introduce a recurring bill.

An anniversary offer with a plan condition
Greenlight’s tenth-anniversary offer runs from October 21 through October 28, 2026, ending at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. For new customers, the advertised $199 price for the 15-inch Family Hub requires a Family Hub+ annual plan. The smaller 10-inch offer has the same condition. This is a promotion for an existing product, not a new-device launch. The special terms apply through Greenlight’s own store, not Amazon or another retailer.

What the first plan year costs
The examples below add one device and, where selected, one complete year of Family Hub+. They exclude tax, shipping and other fees. Greenlight’s support page says the device is charged at checkout and the bundled annual subscription is charged when the Hub is activated, so a first-year total is not necessarily the amount charged on the order date.

The free and paid choices do different jobs
For a new account, Greenlight lists shared calendars, chores with star rewards, lists and photo display in Family Hub Free. Family Hub Plus adds text and voice AI assistants, a timer and location-map features. A buyer who only needs a visible calendar therefore has a different decision from someone buying for hands-free control or family location sharing. The offer does not make those paid features permanently free. Our subscription-cost guide explains how to separate hardware cost from ongoing access.

Existing customers have separate eligibility rules
The special terms name existing customers with an active Core, Max, Infinity or Family Shield plan who receive the offer by email or in the app. They use their personalized link, and no separate Family Hub+ purchase is required for that offer. The existing plan’s own charges and conditions still apply, and it must remain active. Basic Hub access and Plus-level features are also different: Greenlight’s feature chart gives voice, timer and safety access according to the financial plan. General Hub access through another plan does not establish eligibility for this promotion.

Renewal, cancellation and a gift recipient’s bill
The offer names a current annual fee of $99, with automatic renewal at the price in force when the plan renews. Greenlight’s billing guide says a downgrade to Free leaves Plus active until the paid period ends. It directs customers to the mobile app, while noting that a Shopify annual bundle may need cancellation through its purchase confirmation. For a bundled gift, the buyer’s payment method remains linked to the subscription until changed. Agree who will manage that renewal before sending a device to someone else.

Check fit as well as the discount
Greenlight’s hardware FAQ specifies a portable 10.1-inch model and a plug-in 15.6-inch model; the promotion uses the shorter 10-inch and 15-inch names. The FAQ limits sales and account setup to the US. Wi-Fi is needed for most features: cached calendars can be viewed offline, but syncing and event edits need a connection. Those requirements matter more than the saving if the intended recipient cannot set it up or use it where they live. We have not verified delivery times or the final terms for a selected order.
- Decide whether the free calendar or a paid assistant and location features meet your needs before selecting a bundle.
- Check the selected size, account eligibility, total charges and renewal date in your own offer. A lower device price is not a reason to add a plan you do not want.
